Frank Cadogan Cowper (1877-1958)

Frank Cadogan Cowper (1877-1958) represents perhaps the final flowering of the Pre-Raphaelite movement in Britain. Although fashions in art had changed and left him behind he appears not to have cared and to have painted in the style that appealed to him. His best-known painting is Vanity. He also worked as a book illustrator.

  1. I have always loved La Belle Dame. The colors are so intense and saturated; and she is just so full of herself!
